Blogging 101 Course Page

Welcome to Blogging 101 with Mr. Cifelli.  This course is designed to enable SHRHS Faculty to create and maintain their own weblogs. 

Faculty weblogs will best serve as a Class Portal, where you post course and class information including Homework, Links/Resources, Classroom Materials, and so forth.  You can additionally use discussion groups for homework and projects, where students would join your blog as members with their personal email addresses,  then logon to your blog and add comments to assignments you post for them individually or in groups depepnding on your purpose. 

Depending on how you wish to run your blog, your homepage may serve as a static entryway for your portal site - see Mme. Migone's blog, which has direct links to her class pages and other resources directly on it.  Alternatively, you may wish to continually change your homepage by posting News Items to it.  News Items may contain news articles, current events related to your courses, homework updates, or whatever you wish to have immediately seen by visitors.  You can also have a mix of these two site types, by posting general News Items to your homepage, while having direct links to class pages in your Navigation menus.  These design styles and using them will be discussed and reviewed in detail, in addition to much more information on setting up your blogs Preferences, which control how your blog appears and is designed.

There are not actually three class periods of Blogging 101, however, as an example of structuring your blogs Course pages, with links to individual Class Period pages, I have added links to three Class pages.  General information will be posted to this main course page, while class specific information such as homework, projects, grades, class materials (Word Documents, PowerPoint Slideshows, etc.), and the like would be located on individal class pages.
