Physical Education 7/8 A-1,A-2

Each class will consist of a warm up, fitness component, and sport skill or activity.  Students will be responsible for setting personal goals in the fitness area and doing periodic personal self assessments.   Student expectations will be posted monthly.  Please log on weekly for updates, pictures, and messages from the staff.

During the fall months our students will be experiencing the beginning activities in our project adventure program.  We are doing activities in the gym and on the field which teach teamwork, cooperation, communication, safety skills, building trust in our classmates, and beginning to think analytically to problem solve.  As our students progress in these areas they will move onto our low elements course for additional activities which will help them develop as a group.  The lessons learned on the project adventure low elements course will broaden our students ability to think critically, analyze problems and make decisions.  These abilities will transfer into all other subjects as well as develop a base for team work and management skills in the workplace.

Please feel free to ask any questions concerning this program.  Our staff is proud of this program and we have given many hours over the past two years to train and become skilled in teaching this new program.  It is a great addition to our PE Curriculum.

Once students have rotated through project adventure they will move into sports skills as well.  In the fall we concentrate on:

soccer, flag football, field games and more

When the weather turns cold we will begin volleyball, basketball, floor hockey and weight room activities.

Come spring we will return to the fields for outdoor sports, tack and field, softball and project adventure once again.

Our goal is to encourage our students in lifelong fitness activities and sports for lifelong wellness.

Please feel free to call or email at any time if you would like additional information concerning your students progress
