Grade 8 Art

The eighth grade art experience is twelve weeks long. In this time, students learn about several pop artists and get a chance to create projects using similar techniques and materials. Artists and projects include:  Andy Warhol and printmaking, George Segal and figurative, plaster sculpture, Claes Oldenburg and ceramic sculpture and Roy Lichtenstein and self-portraits. Click here for more information on PopArt.  Grading is A-F and is based on effort, attitude and projects completed and handed in.

11/16/09-12/03/09:  Students are working on a variety of projects based on Pop Art.  They have recently completed designing cereal boxes which are on display in the school library.  This week they will complete their drawings of modernized Mona Lisas and begin their final Pop Art project.
