HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY

We believe that good health is essential for effective learning. Our program goal is to promote lifelong personal wellness and physical activity amoung our youth. This program endorses a long-term view of Health and Physical education in which the promotion of lifelong habits of physical activity, and healthful living are the primary goals. Learning health-enhancing behaviors, improving skills, and developing fitness are important goals. However these concepts should be framed within a broader goal aimed at providing children with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills to be active and healthy for a lifetime.
