Law and the Consumer
The student will become aware of their legal rights and legal duties as consumers in today's complex market place. The course will deal specifically with practical consumer situations such as: consumer protection laws, warranties, truth in lending and truth in advertising. It will develop understanding in other personal consumer situations such as: credit, banking insurance, buying and renting as dwellings, taxes, budgeting, and marriage and divorce laws, as well as laws dealing with wills.
