Students will be introduced to the analysis of literature through thematic pairings of poetry, drama, fiction, and nonfiction.  Students will strengthen their reading and writing skills through the discipline of critical analysis.  Vocabulary and grammar skills will be developed through academic and creative writings.  In- depth study of literature and thematically linked outside readings will allow the students to broaden their educational experiences.  The students will read, comprehend and discuss works by Shakespeare, Steinbeck, Golding, Capote, and a host of other important writers.
