Course Objectives

ü      Explain how science has impacted culture, literature and cinema

ü      Analyze films and readings in terms of the ways that science is portrayed, the amount of scientific information conveyed and its level of plausibility

ü      Differentiate science facts from misconceptions

ü      Realize that "scientific knowledge" is largely acquired via a combination of accidental discovery and an open mind.
